“River Flows in You” is an original abstract synaesthesia painting inspired by Yiruma’s beloved piano piece. This acrylic work on artist‑quality Fabriano paper expresses the way I see music as colour, pattern, and movement.
A spectrum of soft and vibrant greens washes across the paper, creating a serene, river‑like backdrop that reflects the gentle flow of the melody. This verdant palette is the foundation of my synaesthetic response, calm, fluid, and quietly uplifting.
Fine black lines weave across the surface with meticulous precision, echoing the rhythmic patterns and delicate phrasing of the piano. These lines move like the music itself: swaying, pulsing, and unfolding with emotional clarity. Their intricate detail captures the subtle shifts and expressive nuances that make the composition so recognisable.
